I can't say enough about Roberta's acupuncture treatment! While extremely skeptical about acupuncture in it's entirety, it was recommended that I try it as a treatment after coming off an SSRI medication. And to think, it really works and helps me better manage my overall anxiety issues. I look forward to my weekly treatment as a chance to turn my phone off, take some deep breaths and relax into the soothing music and comfortable massage tables. I find it is as good as a massage but the relaxation it leaves me with is different and lasting. And funny enough, I still don't really understand what Roberta does, why she puts certain needles where, and why it works. But at the end of the day, it doesn't matter. Hi Roberta,

I just had to write to say thank you so much for helping me to breathe easier again. I began treatment on 2/26 and have now had 6 visits and feel a 180 degree change in my body and mind. When I first started came to visit you I suffered from severe allergies and a 4 month long battle with sinus infections that resulted from my chronic allergies, of which I was put on 3 different antibiotics for two months straight. This course of treatment was reeking havoc on my body. In the first visits we were able to identify the allergens that were causing my suffering. I had been though extensive allergy testing in the past that confirmed my sensitivity to environmental factors such as trees, grass, mold, pollen, and unfortunately cats and dogs but you were able to also identify many foods that were creating a problem for me. Since then we have altered my diet, and environment to eliminate those triggers where possible and it has made a dramatic difference. With only 4 treatments of acupuncture and the altered lifestyle approach I can breathe completely normal again without any medications and have not been so much as stuffed up since. It's amazing. It's like my allergies have disappeared.

In addition to the acupuncture treatment eliminating my allergies by changing my diet has had many advantages. I am exercising regularly and thanks you to your nutritional guidance feel really healthy physically and mentally for the first time in years.

After two years of trying to get pregnant, my husband and I ran the battery of tests and were diagnosed with "unexplained infertility". To us this sounded hopeful, as there was technically nothing wrong with either of us. We became more diligent in our timing, I changed my diet, took vitamins and herbs meant to enhance fertility, drank teas, meditated, etc. I even changed my lifestyle, giving up a stressful job in the city to work from home. Nothing worked. We talked to doctors and were told that due to my "advanced maternal age" of 38, artificial insemination with Clomid or invitro were our only possible solutions. We made a personal decision not to pursue these methods and decided to look into adoption. In the meantime, my husband was seeing Roberta for back pain and mentioned that we were having fertility problems. She told him she may be able to help. After assessing my situation, she began treating me to first balance my whole system, as I was also experiencing headaches, poor digestion and difficulty sleeping, all of which I attributed to the stress of not being able to get pregnant. After the very first treatment, my headaches went away completely! Within two weeks, my digestion had improved and I was sleeping better and felt generally more centered. At the end of that first month of receiving treatment, I missed my period. To my astonishment, I was pregant! I took three tests because I simply couldn't believe it. Roberta was as overjoyed as we were and has continued to be personally and professionally supportive.
At seven months pregnant, the baby and I have both experienced excellent health, something I attribute to acupuncture as well. I want to share this success story, because as two people who had never even tried acupuncture, Roberta's work has changed not only our understanding of acupuncture as an alternative healing method, it has changed our lives and we cannot thank her enough.

Roberta is compassionate, knowledgeable, kind, skillful. I had just begun my treatments with Roberta last spring, when I was diagnosed with a large ovarian mass. There was a chance that it might be ovarian cancer, a potentially fatal disease. I was terrified. Roberta told me, “Whatever this is, we’ll get through it together,” and she was with me every step of the way .For almost two months, I went through tests, examinations, and consultations with different doctors. I had horrible anxiety and could not sleep. During this difficult time, Roberta supported me physically and emotionally, and was available by phone whenever I needed to talk. I finally had surgery and, luckily, my condition turned out to be benign. However, my recovery took a long time. Roberta helped me through that, too. I don’t know what I would have done without her. I am healthy now, and much calmer than before. I have learned a lot from Roberta, and I will never forget what she has done for me.

Roberta is the best. She's a terrific person, someone you really want to have as a practitioner. The main thing to keep in mind is that, as with everything, you must stick with it. I did feel an alleviation of symptoms on my first visit, but those symptoms returned after a few days. However, just remembering that I'd already had some success let me know that the approach she uses works. If you don't have the same immediate relief, try to simply remember that someone did, so it's possible for you. Now I don't have those lung or tracheal symptoms, except on a minor level from time to time.

Roberta has worked on a lot of different things in the treatments, including a problem I've had with fat metabolism (resulting in pain and digestive symptoms). I could definitely tell for many years when I was having troubles of that sort. Roberta worked on that with me and I have gotten much better. This may still go out sometimes, as environmental and dietary stress does cause problems, but she then corrects this with her treatments.

Of course her approach will seem a bit esoteric to some. In fact, this is so much more refined and sophsiticated than other kinds of care that not everyone will be able to immediately grasp what she is up to. But we are electromagnetic beings and the body communicates electromagnetically. I had already been treated in a somewhat similar way years before, to good effect, so I sought out a practitioner doing this type of work. I am very pleased with what Roberta has accomplished with me.

This is very cutting edge work that Roberta does--both futuristic in some of her techniques and traditional in the use of acupuncture. I would truly recommend it for those who have not been satisfied with the care they have received in the past and who have some trust in variant modalities. Give the treatments enough of a try. Nothing works overnight, but this is really wonderful stuff.

When I began seeing Roberta Mittman, I was suffering from agonizing repetitive-stress pain in my forearms and TMJ pain in my jaw. In the past, traditional acupuncture had helped to manage my TMJ pain (the repetitive-stress pain was new), so I thought I would look into acupuncture again. Roberta analyzed the pattern of pain and traced the origin to a small point on my back, which had always troubled me with its tension. I had never before connected that spot with my chronic pains, however. With this knowledge, Roberta was able to ease my pain in the first couple of visits to a degree that took many months for traditional acupuncture. There has also been a noticeable improvement in my overall health and energy levels since I began her acupuncture and enzyme therapy treatments. Roberta Mittman is a talented and caring practitioner, and I highly and enthusiastically recommend her services.

My treatments with Roberta Mittman have literally given me a turbo boost on the path to being pain free. Since I was sixteen, I have been plagued with chronic subluxations in my neck and jaw, along with TMJ, which turned into headaches on a daily basis, which turned into mood swings, which turned into a highly sensitive response to everything, from noise, to light, to smells, to the slightest change in routine. I have been in and out of chiropractic care, massage therapy and even acupuncture, but these only helped temporarily. Within a day and a half, I was back where I started.

     It never occurred to me that I might be sensitive to the things in my diet, the dust in my apartment, or even my cat. I learned of Roberta through my network of doctors, and I heard of allergy elimination from my mother, who has fibromyalgia , and it had virtually ended her cycle of pain and sleeplessness. So I spoke with Roberta on the phone for a very long time one day regarding my past, where I would like to go and how she can help me. I hung up the phone feeling pumped! She was so thoughtful and took the time to discuss everything very thoroughly with me. I also was so appreciative of the fact that she let me know up front that her treatments are a process, and everyone responds wonderfully to the treatments but it is so individual and that is why she works as fast as your body wants you to! Once 1 had just one treatment I knew what she meant! Roberta is so in tune with people and she is such a good listener to what you say and to what your body is saying that she almost knows your body better than you! You could tell her the most obscure symptom and she is able to pinpoint and work it out for you.

     My treatments included, allergy elimination, which helped me immensely because I found out my intense pasta and sugar cravings were due to a high sensitivity to sugar, which was constantly keeping me off balance and out of energy. By desensitizing my body to sugar, the blockage of energy that created my sensitive response was free and my cravings have virtually disappeared. I was also sensitive to a number of other things, which have been worked out as well. In addition to that, much sensitivity that a person has can relate to an emotional blockage. The emotional therapy technique is so interesting and enlightening. While you explore hidden emotions that have created blockage in your body, you become desensitized to that emotion. In other words, you become okay with the situation on your mind. It is neither a good or bad thing, it is just a thing. This technique has even taught me a thing or to about handling daily life! Roberta has also treated me for pain using acupuncture. She asked me each visit (which was once a week) what had been flaring up and she treated me with such precision and care!        She is like a master with acupuncture needles and after one treatment, I hardly had to tell her where my trouble spots were! One day I could barely hold my head up and my eyes open and I called Roberta and asked her if she could help me because I was in so much pain. She was so willing to fit me into her hectic schedule. She listened to my symptoms, she decided on an acupuncture treatment and just told me to relax. When I woke up, I felt like a new human being! My eyes were not puffy and sagging, my head didn't throb, and my body did not feel limp. As I left I looked at my watch and noticed that I had been there for well over an hour! Roberta was so kind to have let me just rest and heal and have an extra long treatment! I couldn't believe the wonderful care she had given me!

     After twelve weeks, my results have been incredible. I make it through the week without much pain. Having a headache is a surprise to me now. I sleep better. I do not get a splitting throb in my forehead every time I smell something terrible or see bright light. I don't crave sugar as much. My arms don't fall asleep in the middle of the night. And best of all, I am back to having days where 1 am my happy-go-lucky self. Things are beautiful. The traffic isn't as loud. Things roll off my back so easily and I am finally saying to myself that life is great! Roberta has helped me see life in a whole new way. Her professionalism, her technique, her gentle, caring thoughts, and her soothing voice are a joy to come to every week. She is brilliant at what she does, and I have never met with a doctor who is more committed, more willing, and more in love with what she does than Roberta Mittman.
