About Roberta Roberts Mittman, L.Ac., Dipl.Ac., M.S., PLLC
As the founder of the Park Avenue Center for WellBeing, I have set a goal to offer a wealth of expertise and caring to each and every patient. Developing a holistic Center where patients can find a synergistic array of treatments in one convenient, serene location by top professionals was --and continues to be-- a focus for me and for my practice.
I was inspired to become an acupuncturist when my father, an alternative-minded M.D., discovered the many benefits of this 3000-year-old healing art over 30 years ago (well before it became fashionable). He was so successful at his work that he completely dedicated his life and practice to becoming a skilled acupuncturist. As a result, my practice is, in part, a way of honoring his expertise and courage, as well as the invaluable lessons that he passed down to me. Furthermore, he was able to effectively integrate both traditional and alternative forms of medicine—a goal to which I also have devoted my professional life.
My professional training began at the Tristate College of Acupuncture in New York City. After three years of intensive, hands-on training, I received my license to practice acupuncture in New York City. Shortly after, I earned a Master's Degree in Acupuncture from Tristate. Nationally board certified, I am also licensed to practice in Connecticut and Massachusetts.
I firmly believe in the principles and methodology of my work, which are to offer you a range of treatments to help you become healthier now --and to stay that way in the future. My goal is not only to relieve you of your illness and discomfort, but to work with you on a personalized plan for preventative care, and to empower you to be your own best healer.
Always incorporating the most cutting-edge, effective treatments and modalities, I have studied extensively at schools, seminars, and workshops across the country to bring you the latest, most up-to-date information. In addition to acupuncture, I also am a Certified Nutritional and Lifestyle Consultant from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and the American Association of Drugless Practitioners and have lectured extensively about health topics. Other powerful techniques that I offer patients include: NAET, Bioset, NMT, BRT, and NET.

Safe and completely compatible with other types of health care you may be receiving, these treatments do not include drugs of any kind, nor must you discontinue any prescription medications. All courses of treatment are determined on a case-by-case basis. Quality time is dedicated to each patient at every office visit.
I decided to base my practice here at 40 Park Avenue, because I am continually presented with challenges and opportunities to realize my professional objective: to combine the best that Western and Eastern medicine together can offer. My goal is to bridge the two by fostering a connection between traditional M.D.’s and alternative healthcare practitioners. At our first meeting, what I came to understand is that you also have a commitment to compassion. The warmth and sincerity with which I was received by you and your staff gave me confidence that I had made the right choice. My subsequent treatments, which included acupuncture, BRT and Net gave me enormous physical relief, but I believe it was your compassionate demeanor and insightful counsel that served to begin my healing on a much deeper plane.
My work has taken me away from New York for several weeks this Summer, but I look forward to resuming our sessions in the Fall.
